Fantasy Football Drafts

Since this weekend is when ESPN claims that more fantasy drafts are held than any other weekend I thought I'd start a thread for everyone to post their team & talk about fantasy football if ya want as maybe you got a sleeper you can turn us on to.

I drafted my main team last night & have two more to go next week. Here is who I got last night...

Starters
QB Kurt Warner
RB Steven Jackson-My #1 pick...6th overall
RB Larry Johnson
WR Reggie Wayne
WR Braylon Edwards
WR Hines Ward
TE Greg Olsen (Sleeper TE pick. I look for Cutler to use him alot)
K David Akers
DST Steelers
RESERVES: QB-Eli Manning, RB-Darren Sproles, RB-Lendale White, WR-Torry Holt, WR-Jeremy Maclin, TE-Heath Miller, K-John Kasay, DST-Packers

I think I got a solid team but my best pick could be Lendale White who I got in round 9. He is in a contract year & showed up in the best shape of his career according to Jeff Fischer. So he should be a TD Machine again this year.
My toughest decision was passing on Brady in round 2 to get Reggie Wayne so I hope I don't regret that. I still got a solid QB though

You had the 6th pick and you went with him? Meh, you could of went with somebody better like Gore, Slaton or Chris Johnson. I haven't been real high on S-Jax since going into the 2007 season.

Anyways, i'm in 7 ESPN leagues, but i'll just post my money league team.

btw, it's a 10-team PPR league. I had the 10th pick.

QB: Tom Brady
RB: Chris Johnson
RB: Reggie Bush
WR: Brandon Marshall (lolololol, HALP)
WR: DeSean Jackson
WR: Lee Evans
TE: Owen Daniels
K: Benedict Vinatieri
D: Steelers

Bench:
QB: Eli Manning
RB: LeSean McCoy (rookie sleeper)
RB: Sammy Morris
WR: Donald Driver
WR: Hakeem Nicks (rookie sleeper)
TE: Tony Scheffler
K: Robbie Gould
D: Bucs

I was torn between three guys, Jackson, LT or Chris Johnson. But I have had a gut feeling about Jackson for awhile so I had to take him. I know he is risky but he is also high reward if he gets it together this year.

You drafted Bush, is he even healthy enough to play yet?

This is the latest on him...

Saints coach Sean Payton said he's hopeful RB Reggie Bush will get some work in the preseason finale against Miami. If Bush doesn't play Thursday, Payton said he'd be judicious in the amount of snaps Bush would receive Week 1 against the Lions.

You are absolutely loaded at RB on the draft 1 team. How in the world did you get all those solid RB's in a single draft??? Was everybody else drunk:lol: I could not imagine in a snake draft getting AP & Slaton on the same team. I had Slaton last year & unless it was a fluke(and I don't think it was) he is gonna be tough this year.

If Derrick Ward could win that 3 man battle in TB for the starting RB position I think he is gonna have a strong season. And even though the Bengals suck Benson should be solid cause he is a good RB, plus he doesn't have to share carries with nobody & that is rare these days.

The 1st league I was in didnt know what they were doing and they all talked a big game too, funny stuff. I could not believe I ended up with Slaton either. I'm pretty sure most of them did not even know who he was haha.

I picked up Cadillac Williams just incase Ward does not get the job. I don't see Earnest Graham as a threat. He should just become a fullback. He is a bum in my book. Ward should have the job. I really like Beanie Wells too. Hope he steals the job from Hightower!!

Also John Morgan is a must own in my opinion. You can grab him fairly late and he is the 49ers main target. Should have a breakout season.

I like everything about your team but your RBs. You don't really have a number 1 RB anywhere. Other than that your QB is obviously a beast along with Moss. Amazing combo. You also got my boy Josh Morgan and I'm really liking Dustin Keller.

Both teams look solid. I would give the edge to the RAMS being the better of your teams as you have 2 top RB's, your solid at WR & I think Percy Harvin & Edgerrin James are great sleeper picks plus you have the great Super Bowl Champiopn QB Mr. Ben Roethlisberger...you can't lose with him;)

yeah i am very thin at RB, but i think they are solid enough to get me at least a combined 20+ points (hopefully)

I think keller is going to be sanchez saving grace...and i like morgan alot..hopefully he does well

He guys I've got picks 10 and 11 in my draft tomorrow.

The people in it are probably going to be going by the book as far as picks go, so who should I look for a 10 and 11?

I hoping Westbrook will still be there, but I doubt any of the QBs I want will (mainly Brees and Rivers).

Rivers will still be there. Westbrook won't. Brees is 50/50.

Thanks Sobes!

What HB would you look for in those slots? Hell, what players should I expect in those slots anyways. If I can get Westbrook and Brees it's over. But you've rained on my Westbrook parade. :(

This is my first time really going at with fantasy anything, so I'm going for the gold!

More general tips please!

The guy in our league who had picks 10 & 11 got Westbrook & LT.
Brees went 8th, but was the only QB to go in round 1. So I think you have a shot at getting Brees.
He ended up getting Matt Ryan in rd 4 & Jay Cutler in rd 7 for his QB's so he still is good at QB imo.

I think the 10th pick in a 10 team league with a snake draft is the best spot to draft from since you get 4 of the top 31 players.

Good Luck!

Westbrook will be there and most likely Brees as well (he almost always goes in the early 2nd round). Out of five of my standard ESPN leagues, Westbrook got drafted in the 2nd round in three of them and in the other two, he went in the 3rd round. I used to love having Westbrook on my teams, but I avoided him in ALL of my drafts this year. McCoy will probably be hogging all of the goal line carries and plus Westbrook is getting worn down.
