Receiver selection help (and advice)?

As described in my thread (http://www.highdefforum.com/speakers-surround-sound/100254-surrounds-go-paradigm-fronts.html#post929480) over in the speakers section, we're filling in a lot of holes in our modest home theater and am looking for help!

I'm currently looking at the...
Yamaha RX-V765
- 95 w x 7
- 0.08% THD
- Analog video upscaling to full HD 1080p

Denon AVR-1910 (my current front-runner)
- 90 watts/channel
- 0.08% THD
- Video Reference Series processor from Anchor Bay Technologies

Onkyo TX-SR706
- 100 watts/channel
- 0.08% THD
- Faroudja DCDi Cinema

Any major benefits I'd be missing either by price range (any big reason to look higher or lower?) or for one unit over the other.

My current equipment is a Mitsubishi WD-73837 rear projection DLP (4 HDMI Inputs, coaxial audio- no optical), Dish Network VIP-622 high def DVR (HDMI) and an Oppo DV-970 upconverting DVD (HDMI). I'll probably be adding a XBox 360 soon (also HDMI).

All of the receivers seem to have issues with certain users (heat, OSD, HDMI) so that looks like a wash. So what do I need to know? The only 'sore thumb' I see in the group is the universal dislike for Onkyo support.

I've heard that most TVs today upconvert and most SD broadcasts look reasonably good except for a few shows on my wife's favorite channel (DIY) where they looked very grainy. Mitsubishi uses "Plush 1080p" which I've read either UGs "1080i to 1080p" or "everything to 1080p". What are the odds of seeing better upconversion from one of these receivers?

As always, thanks for your help!

Hands down the Onkyo. I'm willing to bet it's cheaper than both the Denon and Yamaha as well.

I am a real Onkyo fan but have to give the edge to the Denon for it's superior video processing and power. Even though it is rated lower than the Onkyo, by 10 WPC it is truly more powerful and just as flexible with the new Dolby IIz, bi-amp capabilities, Audyssey and the like. Out of the three it is the clear winner when you consider all factors involved. That is not to say that either the Onkyo or Yamaha is a slouch, just that the Denon beats the other two in several different categories.
