Bought this HR22-100 last May in Las Vegas.
I plugged it in for the first time on Thursday. It went through all of its "downloading" and "gathering info" until I got to the call D* to activate your receiver.
Seeing as I am in Canada, this had to be done in a certain manner. So I turned the unit off and unplugged it and reconnected my D10 so I could use it until my HR22 was activated.
Friday (next day) I came home from work and thought I'd double check my signal strength on the 5 satellites because it had been cloudy the previous day. So I reconnected the cable from the Slimline dish, the output cables and finally the power cord.
NOTHING ....... ZIP ...... NADDA ...... DEAD !!!
I tried the red reset button, unplugged it and replugged it, tested the power cord with a tester (it had power). Nothing .... no "flash of lights, no humming sound and no fan sound (things I've seen on other forums while trying to fix this)
So ..... I can't call D* and ask them for a replacement (obviously), they can't send out a tech (obviously) what can I do other than using it as a $250 doorstop.
If I open up the unit is there anywhere to test for power? Would there be another reset button inside? I'm not afraid to open it because right now it's totally useless.
Thnx for looking.
