What channels are next ?

I live in Rochester, MN (55901). I can get NBC & FOX OTA. I've been thinking about getting Dish HDTV, but the cost to channel ratio (about $250 for installation of a new dish and receiver, for getting 12 channels) is rather discouraging for me.

Does anyone if other channels (e.g. Bravo, MTV, Travel Channel etc.) are planning to switch to HD anytime soon ?

Are you getting RTTC and KXLT in HD? The NAB web sites are not displaying those as active (still under the contstruction permit) for those digital stations?

Dishnetwork offers a little more that 12 channels. There are 10 Voom channels (with 11 more coming by January). The HDPak offers 5 HD channels. You may get HBO-HD and SHO-HD if you subscribe to those packages. Also there's a Demo-HD and CBS-HD channels (however you may not qualify for CBS-HD).
For Voom, CBS-HD (east) and Demo-HD you'll need an extra dish pointed at the 61.5 orbital slot. Expect the number of HD channels to increase in the future as more people are migrating to HDTVs.

Also with an antenna you'll get whatever local channels both analog and digital (if available) for free.

Yes, I'm getting KTTC & KXLT. KTTC has been digital (and HD) for almost 3 years, KXLT has been digital for about a year (and recently started broadcasting in HD as well). I also get two KSMQ (pbs) channels OTA, but they're SD.

I don't qualify for CBS-HD.

What are the 11 more voom channels that are coming in jan ?

Now I found all your stations. The chart abeviated Rochester and
didn't mention MN as the state. You rank 153 out of 211 markets.

I saw it on the Voom commercial where the channel names are on 3D panels rotating around in a circular band. Also saw Cinema HD but there were ten of those channels advertised a while back on their web site.

Were are you viewing channel/ Town rankings?
I'm in Sioux City, Iowa
I can only get ONE HD local channel (KTIV) NBC, the others are bare minimum Digital TV.
I am on Dish Networks HD but didn't spend the extra $250.00 fora second dish to get the Voom channels.
I'm patiently waiting for more of my favorites to turnd the corner and switch to HD.

Give me HOCKEY in HD!
