Hello everyone.

I have Cox Cable (w/ HD) and I'm trying to figure out the best way to view HD channels on my computer.

I have an HP w/ Vista Home Premium. It has a built in TV Tuner:
NTSC TV tuner, over-the-air ATSC high-definition television tuner, and FM tuner

Other specs:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600(2.4GHz);3GB RAM

Basically my room with my pc has a COAX cable coming from the wall. From what i've read so far online it seems that I need a cable box, such as the ATI TV Wonder Digital Cable Tuner, with a digital cable card from Cox. Is this the only way for me to watch HD through Media Center?

Thanks for the help!

I haven't used the ATI tuner but have seen mixed comments about it. You should check the specs and see if it's compatible with WMC. Other than that, the only tuner that will handle cable/satellite HD is the Hauppage HD-PVR which has been around for a while and in wide use, so there's a lot of information available about it.

Your computers tuner will need to have a digtial QAM tuner as well for digital/HD cable. ATSC is for digital OTA (antenna) and NTSC is for analog OTA/cable. There are plenty of tuner cards that have QAM support, so just check em out.
