I am looking to pick up a Blu ray drive for my home PC. I am looking to find the lowest priced drive that anyone knows of. My computer is fully capable of handling any drive as it is a very well put together engineering workstation built for running Solidworks. Quad core processor, 4 GB ram, and a NVIDIA Quadro FX 4800 video card. Any ideas?

Hello millwork400. Glad you're in the forums. This drive just came on sale this week. If you're not a subscriber of newegg.com's daily and weekly deals, then sign up and you should receive the offers via email every-other-day. Moving on....The LG Black 6x BD-R 2X BD-RE 16X DVD + R 6X BD-ROM OEM is priced at $139.99 right now. Head on over there and get it. That is one heck of a deal on a blu-ray burner at 6x. How much are you willing to spend? Just curious. Good luck millwork400.

Gotta check this one out,Plextor makes great stuff, but is usually higher priced...Thanks for the tip...
Update: Went to Tiger Direct and examined a user review of the drive. It seems that the front panel of the drive has an issue where it can't be put in a tower in a normal fashion without voiding the warranty. So if you choose this drive,be careful..

And just so you know,it does not write to blu-ray which makes the LG drive a better value since it does, and reads HD DVD as well.
