Attn. NHL fans: DirecTV is dropping VS!

Apperently not allot of DTV Hockey fans (as of now anyways)... But at least this contract is over at the end of this season, I think. I highly doubt the NHL will be stupid enough to renew again, but not much shocks me now a days.
I have Dish so not a biggie. But VS. became a "premium" channel last year so if you don't have the rite package, your outta luck there too. Even if I didn't have VS it would not be a big deal. The only issue is the playoff games at the end of the season and I am usually watching them at my local pub. Luckily the bar I most frequent has cable and not DTV. But the sports bar down the street has DTV and will suck ass for them if the Hawks go deep into the playoffs again and a few of those games are only on VS.. Then you will here some crickets in that place..

I don't really think that whoever it was that made the decision to jump from ESPN to VS had the NHL's (long term) best interests at heart~ I think it was a "quick cash" deal, and I think the NHL was pissed @ ESPN for wanting more $$ because of bad NHL ratings. This is only my opinion, but that is what I believe.

Even though ESPN wanted more$$, I think that the NHL would have come into it's own again after a year or two, especially w/all the young talent all over the league. ESPN was/is such a basic channel now that it should have been a no brainer to stick with them. :2cents

PS ESPN also had the BEST NHL commercials too... :lol:
