Then restrict your viewing to discs of HD TV programs, or discs with movies with an aspect ratio of 1.85:1. HD TV programs have an AR of 16:9 (=1.78:1) which matches the AR of your TV. Movies with an AR of 1.85:1 will usually fill the screen of your 16:9 TV because of the overscan built into the TV. Even on a TV without overscan the bars exhiibited on a 1.85:1 movie will be barely noticeable.
Of course, using this strategy will deprive of of the opportunity of watching some very good current movies and some real classics, but the choice is yours.
