non uniform screen (also called Mura) is not problem with SAMSUNG, this is problem with all LCD panels, SONY XBR line was plagued with this issue, i have a SAMSUNG and SONY LCD set they both show upto some extent a non uniform screen (only in dark scene with dark room) i had an older SAMSUNG which was very bad with mura effect. My point is all the top of the line LCD are still behind basic plasma sets which in some case cost less than half of LED sets. 40 inch LED LCD panel is around 2K as compared to 1080p 42 inch plasma for $800.
