There's a reason why the big box retailers (such as HHGregg in my area) are practically giving away the Mits DLPs. Thankfully, the days of white hot lamps, noisy cooling fans, color wheels, and optical block/light engine meltdowns are just about a thing of the past.
Except for front projectors, that is.
