Well one reason would be cost another would be increased def, however some movies like "stargate" dont benefit from being bluray at all the transfer was poor. But overall if you see a movie like "kingdom of heaven" in DVD then Bluray you will make the jump its a great transfer and you get more movie. Forget the extras they will continue to be crappy and not worth the hype.
