I never really got into GE. IMHO the old skool game with innovative multiplayer, controls, grafix, etc was descent. That was the game that revolutionized online gaming...not doom

Isn't Doom some several years before descent? I believe descent was proper 3D. Doom is actually all made up from 2D sprites cleverly scaled and rotated to give the feel of 3 dimensions.
Doom pioneered LAN gaming I believe. Btw, I was just winding u up with the suggesting the Doom engine is bad
Ah I absolutely loved Descent. Never played multiplayer though as we didn't get internet access until about 1998. Dreamcast was when I first started gaming online properly (this is why I skoff at all the hailing of Microsoft for online console gaming
