Hope this helps & welcome to the forum!
Ok im sorry, im only 16 :P. I have a general knowledge about TV's but not so much about new tv's. Ok so here is what you generally saying

-There can be only one native resolution
-Most newer TV's can input all resolutions

Ok, so if i have a 720p/1080i tv, i can only display 720p/1080i, and 1080p can input but cannot output, it wil scale it to either 720p or 1080i (correct?). If thats the case, why does 1080p looks so much better than either resolution.

(Im sorry, im a new HDTV owner. We have a HDTV downstairs but its a tube tv and can only display 480i, 480p, and 1080i)
