An oversight on my part because I put the receiver on a top shelf. I underestimated how much the heat would linger in the ceiling area. I am going to get a fan to plug into the back of the receiver so that it runs with the receiver. That should help with the circulation to take some cold air from below up to the top shelf.

However I think I would need to rig some slow ventilation fan into the attic. Any suggestions?
My friend, who has a similar situation, put a bathroom exhaust fan (low noise) in the closet ceiling which cools things enough (or actually stimulates enough air movement) to keep things at lower operating temps. It works great and you don't hear anything...Maybe that will work for you.
