ventilation for receiver needed
Hello I installed a receiver in the storage/electronics closet, which is about 4'x3'. 8' ceiling. It is for audio in different rooms.
The receiver is Technics SA-DA8 and runs quite hot, the heat sink is facing the top and I checked the temperature is 170 in the heat sink inside and 130-140 in the ceiling. I only have 2 small speakers connected and volume at 11 o' clock for a few hours.
An oversight on my part because I put the receiver on a top shelf. I underestimated how much the heat would linger in the ceiling area. I am going to get a fan to plug into the back of the receiver so that it runs with the receiver. That should help with the circulation to take some cold air from below up to the top shelf.
However I think I would need to rig some slow ventilation fan into the attic. Any suggestions?
