I did the early "HD test", and it said my TV doesn't support it.. .but I have never been sure if that means it won't show in 24, or if it won't show at ALL. I have not yet invested in a bluray player (which of course also does 24fps), but I assume that it will output 24fps, or downgrade to Pulldown if my TV won't play it... but here again, I'm not sure...
Bottom line, I don't want to waste $6.99 buying a VOD that I won't be able to watch.
Any comments appreciated.

Save the additional cost. It will simply show in 1080i.
I too had an XBR2.
I recently upgraded to the Pioneer elite 60 inch plasma.
Pioneer may be going out of the plasma business. However, that didn't change the fact this is just about the best possible display available.
24 is no longer a problem for VOD.
And, got the best picture available.
