I noticed sometimes if a box has multiple outputs hooked from it it will do that... e.g. you have cable out hooked into the tv+component also, It really wouldn't hurt to call and get some assistance with the problem. If it worked when he installed it, I doubt it would be a bad box... It definetely could be tho. I've had similiar problems resolved by simply by unplugging the box AND tv, i guess these suggestions can't hurt?
