Some people like a brighter picture even if it is not as accurate as simply personal taste. If you think you prefer that extra brightness, then an LED backlit LCD would be the best choice for you. After all, you are the one paying for it and will have to look at it for years to come so get what looks best to you.

One thing to make sure of if people will also be watching at an angle, you want check the viewing angles from your seating distance with those LED backlit LCDs. Those models tend to have more narrow viewing angles so look in the darker room at the store for your model where it will likely be more noticeable so you can be sure it is acceptable.
