sorry gents, but me must side with kamspy on this one. But lets rephrase his verbage - an experienced computer user knows that AV programs are not only a waste of money, but also resource hogs. Been running wide open broadband - with 3 different users in me household - for the better part of the last 8 years - with no virus yet. Matter of fact, me sideline business is repairing and cleaning any and all confusers sent me way. A majority of the computers have AV software on them, most have proprietary AV software that was pre-installed as an "add on" when they bought the computer. Me first clean - is to remove all AV software and in most cases, the computer perks up. Me second clean is for malware which is more prevalent than said viruses. Me third clean is to instruct the user on certain software to use once or twixt a month to insure their computer stays clean. Sure seems funny that all these computers that have AV on them, also have some malware or crap on them that they were supposedly protected from. Me gut feeling is that Norton and Mcrapee send out their own malware and pseudo-virus every now and then just to sell more product.
