And it is not just being capable of receiving a 1080p signal but whether you are sending it a 1080p/60 or 1080p/24 signal. Some sets will accept a 1080p/60 but not a 1080p/24.

With 1080p/24 you could have an improvement of judder elimination, but 1080p/60 offers no advantage picture quality wise over 1080i on movies unless the TV has a poor deinterlacer.
