Well, they've always had it via optical connection. But the HDMI 5.1 is new for them. And yes, it's long overdue IMO.

I presume your DSL is through AT&T also? The reason I ask is if you're already having trouble with your AT&T DSL, I don't know that switching to U-verse is going to help. It could due to the nature of the fiber at the node, but I wouldn't think so. On the plus side, they don't have any contracts, and you can try it out for 30 days to see if you like it or not.
