True, for a full cal you DO want that many hours.
With an Avia disk, etc. you can wing it, go back in a month, tweak some more.
In fact, I usually use a cal disk right away because it helps get the basic settings done with a new set. Takes off that 'showroom' shine. Of course, there are settings at tweaktv, etc. that help there too.
The cal disk is usually a finer tune.
