I had to format the External HD into NTSC for my computer files and then i realized it had to be fat32 for xbox. I used partition magic and created a 4gb sized partition and i tried to attach it to the xbox but it still won't recognize it.
Any ideas on what i'm doing wrong?
Thanks and i'm a new member as well so appreciate any help.

I am not sure.. That should work as I was able to connect my old 80gb external Western Digital drive to it with no problems. Perhaps the entire drive needs to be formatted as Fat32 and not just 1 small partion.?. I only use flash drives now, and as you stated they work great. Now that you can get a 16gb flash drive for under $30, I have not had the need to use my external hard drive anymore other than to backup stuff.
