So everyone who has an issue should just scrap the thousands of dollars invested in BD instead of complaining about it and looking for a hack to resolve the issue?
Some troubleshooting skills you have there then. We all come here to help each other FIND solutions to issues not to just tell people love it (as is) or leave it.

Every disc the same: endless warnings, HBO logos etc. until you finally come to the menu. I can sort of understand it on disc one. At disc five, i just want to throw my remote at the screen....

With the resume feature which is missing from being allowed, due to poor coding design, nearly all discs require you to re-watch or frame advance through each preview repeatedly each time you re-start the disc.
I never used resume much on SD DVD, but with BD it is even more important to have it, just so you can skip over this preview process if you have to stop the movie before watching all of it. Not to mention if the disc skips and you have to pull it out to clean it with only some mild fingerprints on it and have to go through this all over yet again.
Bookmarks cannot be used until AFTER you get to the menus so this is no help to get past the previews in such cases either. IMO, they really need to either allow you to bypass the previews in how they encode the discs, or fix the resume feature (which is unlikely).
