and now that we are talking "selling contract", aren't installed items usually considered fixed property and not removable or priced separately. The TV, a/v receiver, and wall mounted speakers are removable property.....the speaker wiring in the walls, volume controls installed in the walls, and the in-ceiling speaker are fixed and installed property and can be assumed to go with the house, just like windows, doors, and all installed electrical wiring is assumed in the selling price. Most standard contracts have language dealing with this issue.

But I do agree with "munkey"....the guy did attempt to screw you with an outrageous price for obsolete equipment......bad form, very bad form.
