I wish I had known these stuff before buyinmg the TV. Although I am not much concerned about the screen size issue, as I used the screen button option of the remote and enlarged the screen with still good resoloution.

Actually I saw a 32" Sony HDTV which was widescreen when i bought my 34" sony. i asked the seller whats the difference, he said nothing!!! so i thought why not paying more and buying the 34".

I will re-read the manual of dv-r and most probably get back to you, if it is ok.
some1 suggested to used the front "out oputs" from TV to my vcr.

i will re-read whatever i have, try out things before take more your time.
