Looking for Help HD/Blue Ray
Problem:
Unable to receive HD-Video from blue ray to TV.
Components:
Blue Ray Player: Sony BDP-BX1 (HDCP supported)
Television: Sony KP-65WS500 (HDCP Supported via DVI)
HDMI-DVI Adapter: Philips Adapter SWV3459W HDMI (F) - DVI (M)
Information:
When first hooked up the video worked great through the DVI adapter (didn't pay attention to boot up order). After a few boot down/up's the video stopped working. When ever we boot up the player we get the loading screen (via hdmi/dvi), then when it goes to play the screen blinks, and then goes blank. (Audio works).
Have researched HDCP quite extensively and have done every boot sequence known to man. (yes unplugging from the wall, and also tried just powering down).
Have tried resetting to factory default for both on all the boot sequences as well.
The audio is hooked up to a sony home theatre through the L/R audio cables (have tried with and without these for boot up sequences as well).
Have tried sony support (what a joke).
RCA and video/audio cables do work.
Thoughts:
It makes no sense to me that it would work for the first 30 minutes, then upon several power up/downs of either devices that in no possible way can we get the video back.
Current assumption is the adapter, as both the tv and player are HDCP compatible. Another is that they, for what ever reason, can not get a handshake (outside of boot sequence, is there a clear way to tell if they are handshake or not?).
And just to reiterate, the loading screen DOES work after booting up the player, so the video cables all DO work, just lose the picture after a dvd starts up.
Anyones help would greatly be appreciated, this post is my last cry for help as i have tried everything in my knowledge base and am reaching out for other peoples experiences.
Thanks you,
Snoobish
