Default CM 4228 HD Report

Today, I finished finding the sweet spot. The antenna is installed in my attic and is hooked up with a Channel Master Pre Amp 7778.

Pointing at 156 south east, I can pick up all my locals, plus those out west.

I'm in zip code 78260 and the tvfool.com info is attached. I'm located 26-31 miles from the transmitters south east of me. It's going to be interesting if I overload the tuner when all channels go digital next month as I have station 18 (17.1) just a few miles away from me that will then switch over. I'm hoping that with my antenna pointed away from the station that won't be the case.

32 (35.1) KMYS - 100
30 (29.1) KABB - 100
8 (9.1) KLRN - 93
16 (23.1) KHCE - 87
48 (12.1) KSAT - 83
58 (4.1) WOAI - 80
55 (5.1) KENS - 100

There are other channels in spanish and I've not listed those as I'm not interested in them but they're in the 80s.

Does it matter when I add the surge protector for the coax? I'm going to add it just before attaching it to the receiver with the power supply for the pre-amp after that.

Anyway, so far so good. I can confirm with glee that it can pick up channel 8 VHF extremely well 25 miles from the station. PBS on channel 8 will be moving to channel 9 next month.

Hopefully this will be good news for those interested in the CM 4228 HD.

Cheers and if you have any questions I will do my best to report back.
