I don't know if Goofnut understood your questions and I'm not sure if I do either but here is my interpretation

You can have the HDMI hooked up and both the component and/or composite cables also hooked up.

You can us a RF remote that will work through the walls. You could start a show in one room and continue it in another room, but unlike Dish you can't watch 2 different shows in the 2 rooms. The same show would be showing in both rooms.
