I think this is why it is still playable in his player. Every DVD-A disc I have also has a DD/DTS 5.1 soundtrack that plays in all regular DVD players as well. What is being heard is those lossy tracks and not the lossless DVD-A track, unless Panasonic added DVD-A support with a firmware update, but I suspect they would tell owners they added this feature if they did add it.
