PFC5, Unfortuatley the 550 won't decode HD audio over HDMI to a receiver that is capable of bit-streaming the HD audio types (It will decode for a receiver that is HDMI 1.2). He has to select bit stream if he want to hear the HD audio. (I gave the settings above).

The 550 when set to MIX setting to add BD audio only mixes the core with the special feature audio.

I would hope SONY would let the user select decoding in the future even to a HDMI 1.3A AVR. That way if your receiver has a decoding issue you can use the player's decoder instead.
