Most people find that there is no noticeable difference between the different hi-quality cable types (HDMI, DVI, component) if the cables are of a good quality, and the lengths are not too long. When the runs are long or there is a lot of interference in the environment, there can be major differences. Aside from the 3 types above, there are other cable types that can have special properties.
