I wonder how much of this is economy driven, and how much is based on the current limited appeal/apathy for HDM in general? I think making big posters, etc. is good and the "in your face" approach will likely make many people feel "left out" eventually if they do not buy into it. I seem to remember that being a big part of the approach used with SD DVD back in the day, so it appears to be they are taking this from the SD DVD play book.


BD player prices dropping should help overcome part of the poorer economy aspect, but the studios need to figure that out now too IMO. If Ferrari started having huge ads and saturated the market could they ever come close to the same market levels as Toyota or Chevy at the higher prices?
