No Digital & HDTV are NOT the same... Digital TV includes lower def image formats like 480i SDTV and 480p EDTV as well as HDTV. HDTV is a TYPE of digital TV.

Read you specs a bit closer... this is a 16:10 display, not 16:9. Still, with letterboxing, it will do a good job of showing 720p/60.

Both of the products you link are for European version of digital SDTV... completely incompatible with US digital HDTV standards. DVB-T is their terrestrial broadcast standard, DVB-S (and S2) are for satellite, DVB-C is cable.

A Korean company named Sasem was coming out with a USB interface HDTV tuner, but they've gone out of business. I don't know of any similar products, or any PCMCIA card digital tuner that would work with a notebook.

You could transport HDTV over Firewire for display on this system, but it takes a lot of storage...
