I would call Denon directly with that question. Some DVD players disable the audio if a HDMI cable is connected, but it is not a requirement. It is the decision of the mfg. I know one DVD mfg DID disable the separate audio if a HDMI cable was connected, but they issued a firmware fix to change/fix this.

I would imagine MOST will allow the separate connection, but it would be best to call the mfg directly to confirm BEFORE buying.
