That sounds really strange, since i also have a tv that carries an HDMI port and my SA 3250HD has the recently activated DVI-D port. Im using an DVI to HDMI cable and i have had no problem, as long as the tv is turned on first, then the box. Do you know if your cable company activated the set top box's DVI port, because sometimes they are active by mistake, and other times work part time.
