A recent copy of Dejavu is upscaled to almost blu ray quality whilst an older version of the Richard Gere disc Yanks is no where near as good - the original grainy picture is exacerbated when upscaled....I have to buy some discs to keep my wife happy! My only comment so far is that when playing a recent copy of The Prestige I got white flashes across the bottom of the TV screen but I suspect this may be a disc fault? This is my only problem so far.

Was the problem Prestige a Blu-ray disc or DVD? I own the DVD, not the Blu-ray but can sure check the DVD with the Samsung BD-P1200. In either event, let us know what you think after you have had some time to play with the player. It is getting good reviews based on what I have been reading, which of course is good news for those of us that want this format to succeed.
