The Onkyo TX-SR605/606 are 2 good HDMI 1.3a suggestions in you budget. The 705 is another but is around $550 I think. Just make sure the receiver is NOT HDMI passthrough. The 606 can be had for about $425 shipped or at Circuit City for $429..

Amazon has the 705 for $529 shipped. Nice price on a very nice receiver... I would go 705 if you can..
