MN Comcast Local HD Channel Trouble
Hi
I'm relatively new to the HD seen but have been doing some research and just purchased a Tosh 52HM94 w/ built-in ATSC/QAM. I'm in the Minneapolis, MN area and my provider is Comcast. I have Basic (non-digital) service w/ them. I currently have my cable plugged directly into the ANT 1 input. Everything seems to work as it should including HD programming for my local OTA FOX, CBS and PBS stations.
The problem is this: along with the HD stations above, I'm also supposed to get ABC, NBC, WB and HDN HD broadcasts. When I select a corresponding channel (from channel list at antennaWeb.org) for one of these 4 stations I get the message on my TV explaining "digital channel strength is low". I've talked w/ support at Comcast and like others, I've found they know very little about HD. The fact that I am able to get 3 of the 7 HD stations w/out any trouble was lost on them. They kept talking about STBs and CCs. I should not need either of these for my local HD with the Tosh I have. They do not seem to understand that I should be getting my local OTA HD through my basic cable signal.
Has anyone had any experience with the "channel strength is low" issue or have any advice on the matter?
Thanks for any help!!
