Just in case kampsy pops buy, I'm using a little bit of charcoal and mostly apple wood to cook my steaks, potatoes and sauteed oninions on. I've tried every type of wood there is but apple is the way to go. The whole family complains when I switch to a different type of wood. Apple has its own distinct flavor. Kinda smokey with a little tang.
