I know nVidia and ATI got slammed for their mid-range GPUs in the 8-series and HD 2x00-series.
I think the game should still run fine, just not on OMG settings. Probably medium on with a moderate resolution.
You can always download their respective demos and see what you think. Then buy if you enjoy, if not pick it up for your preffered console.

My card is spec'd lower than yours (but it's an EVGA, so it has less bad transistors) and I can run both COD4 and Bioshock way better than either console.
Only problem I see is that Intel processor. Better get that thing out of there fast. Pretty sure you can't even run Commander Keen with an Intel CPU. Those things are like 1/10 the physical weight of their respective and dominative AMD counterparts.
Return the CPU, buy a AMD Phenom, and you'll have enough money left over for Bioshock, and you're PC will no longer have the Intel plague and your friends won't think so low of you anymore.
