If you watch a pro in a tourney, if he gets a strike but no fish, he will grab a pole with a worm and cast into the same spot to catch the fish.
My son is a worm lover! He has every color in the ranbow. He also fishes the rubber crawfish and has been successful catching bass with them. And he LOVES his frogs - the legs "swim" when you reel in.

The swim bait I just bought is very good. It has the tail of the worm - is a whiteish clear with a single hook. Just cast and retrieve. They will sink to the bottom so you can jig them or dive and surface. I believe Storm makes them.
