I am just going by what is being reported by each company. Although you are right to a degree, apparently Sony's numbers were only for the fiscal year of 08' which leaves out a 4 month window for the launch period were presumably 2 million units were sold. Which would bring it back up to my original prediction of a 7-8 million lead.

Of course these are all numbers reported by the manufacturers who have a vested interest in how convincing people that their console has sold the most. Doesn't Sony actually only report on units shipped not technically sold?
