Sony has 9.24 million units sold worldwide. That comes directly from Sony...

Nintendo has sold 8.8 million units in the U.S. with a grand total of 24.45 million units worldwide.

Seriously puts things in perspective... While Sony has been chomping on the bit to get higher minthly sales than Microsoft it has become painfully clear that they are still a long long ways off. I figured Sony was about 6-7 million units away from Microsoft, not 10...

Umm, I think you're taking a part of that a bit out of context. If I'm reading correctly, that was just for the fiscal year. Not total. I don't expect that the numbers would be drastically different to include Japan's and America's launch numbers, but it would be higher than the ~9 million reported.
