silent hill series hands down beats RE series in terms of scariness.. what RE is great for is the action in it.. silent hill series was never about fast pace action and stuff like that but more of the environments and crazy looking monsters that just give you a werid feeling. RE series was also good for things popping up in your face and scaring you that way(e.g. dogs bursting through windows). where as SH series was more about the imagery of something very hellish.. i cant speak for condemned.. but i played the demo of part 2 and it sucks ..
