Care to share where this comes from? or is it a personal opinion?
Plasma HDTV unit sales reached an all-time quarterly high in the fourth quarter of 2007.
That's according to a study from Quixel Research, as reported by TWICE Magazine.
The study said overall sales increased five percent from last year's fourth quarter. But it added that revenue fell in 2007 because Plasma makers had to lower prices to keep pace with LCD flat-panel sets.
Quixel also suggested that the 1080p Plasma, which is priced more expensively than the 720p model, apparently is not raising average street prices.
"There were very few 1080p models to support growth," the study said, TWICE reported.
Quixel said Plasma sales in the 50 to 59 inch category rose 47 percent from the third quarter to the fourth quarter.
But the 40 to 49 inch category fell 22 percent from 2006 to 2007.
