Is it just the sceptic in me that thinks Disney would prefer us to buy replacement copies of Blu-Ray movies when our younger kids scratch the first copy bought, which would generate more sales for them?

I think if the protective layer is 1/6th the thickness of existing DVDs they are going to scratch quite easily and be useless. My guess, (just a guess), is if they come out with BOTH formats, the Blu-Ray will prove to NOT LAST in everyday use and the war will end in about a year when everyone sees how fragile they are.
