I'd guess that many of you have had the chance to compare the quality of HD both with Full HD LCD tv's and with HD Ready LCD tv's.

According to several sources with quite solid "scientific" proofs claim that with, say, 37" to 40" displays, human eye cannot distinguish the difference between FullHD and HD ready quality difference unless watched from very close distance.

So, if I'd watch a movie from a distance of approx. 9-10 feets, should I select FullHD LCD or would I get the same quality from HD Ready.

Kids have PS3 and a 32" HD Ready TV that I've "tested" with few movies. Looks great compared to my 20 years old 26" CRT tv that has bypassed the "best before" date long ago and I'm about to replace it with a receiver.

Thanks in advance, this forum has provided a lot of useful information, well..excluding the quite furious format war discussions..
Welcome to the HD Forum OneFinn!! Me not be sure of how they advertise in your beautiful country, but stateside, HD ready means that a TV is capable of HD but needs an external HD ATSC box. Fully HD means that the TV has the ATSC tuner included in the TV and will play back HD without an external source. Most LCD's sold today are HD ready, meaning that they do include an ATSC tuner. If you be watching your tube from 9-10 feet, me only suggestion would be to go with a minimum of a 46" screen - and don't be cheap on your audio system. The newer codecs coupled with lossless audio make HD viewing an immersive experience. Rule of thumb that me follows - spend an equal amount on your audio as you do your video. You will not regret!!
