Where do you get your info on this? Can you post any links about other DLP brands with the lip-sync issue with DVDs as the source? If you are talking about broadcast issues that is most likely NOT the TV's fault.

I have tried 3 different brands of DLPs and the only one that had this problem was the Samsung. All the other equipment was the same for each brand. There maybe occasional video lag on broadcast signals due to the source having momentary problems with other brands, but this is incorrectly attributed to the TV occasionally. The Samsungs have problems with DVDs that is indefinately repeatable. They also have the most problems with PS2, Xbox, etc as well. Mostly the game lag issue is with 480i or p games, but it is almost exclusively a Samsung issue.

As I said earlier in this thread, it is most likely due to the "Excessive Processing" the Samsungs do.
