I would say the Profile 1.0 players will play all future movies. How I read this statement is all the other extra features are useable on earlier profile players.
This is the thing the gripes me about blu-ray. Why did they not add hardware enough to be able to upgrade the earlier profiles to newer profile status. Then it would not be an issue down the road!
